How To Know Who is of God
"Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.
No one who remains in Him sins continually; no one who sins continually has seen Him or knows Him.
Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God.
By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother and sister."
1 John 3:4-10 NASB
If you are practicing sin and have felt powerless to overcome it, the messages on this site are here to help you see the truth for yourself from the scriptures and get free from that bondage. Even though you may believe in God, it's important to understand that sin is our greatest threat and freedom from the power of sin and its consequence (the second death) is what Christ has provided for those who receive him. The gospel is not easily conveyed in an excerpt that excludes other passages or context. Man-made and edited versions of the salvation message leave you powerless and misinformed about grace (see Jude 1:4). Here's how you have actual freedom:
John 8:31-32 says:
"Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, “If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
If you acknowledge the truth but have hardened your heart, recognize it is unbelief and self-deception. It's easy to end up in such a position through the deceptive pleasures of sin, but fight for your own soul! Romans 10:17 would throw you a lifeline, "Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ."
I hope that you will read through this site and let the truth
minister to you through the scriptures.
“But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves. For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror. For he gazes at himself and then goes out and immediately forgets what sort of person he was. But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out—he will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:22-25
